FIRSTLY - COME DOWN ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND GO AND WATCH SPEEDWAY AT THE OAKTREE ARENA  (DONT FORGET YOUR NASA LICENCE AS YOU WILL GET IN AT A REDUCED RATE)

THEN YOU CAN SPEND SATURDAY ON THE BEACH AT BURNHAM OR WESTON, GO SHOPPING AT CRIBBS CAUSEWAY  OR SIMPLY RELAX AT THE RACEWAY, THEN IN THE EVENING COME ON OVER TO THE OAKTREE CLUBHOUSE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS OF CLASSIC HORSE RACING FUN, A BAR SNACK MAYBE, AND A FEW BEERS OF COURSE...

... during the day on Sunday represent your team in the first SSAC Autograss Grand Prix event ...

Sunday night at the Oaktree Clubhouse will comprise of some special entertainment for the kids and later on something for the adults ... we'll keep you posted when all is arranged!

... and Monday will bring the completion of the Grand Prix event - then it'll be back off to the weekly grind !

THE SSAC GRAND PRIX 2008  - FORMAT

The basis of the Autograss Grand Prix is TEAM RACING, however if you don’t want to be in a team i.e. if you want to just turn up and race as normal you can, no problem.


THE RULES:

Teams of FOUR cars
One only from any one class (ladies classes count as their individual class and can be in a car shared with another team member, but must have a ‘loan’ vehicle available in the event that they reach the team finals). Junior drivers will be catered for in a separate event.

Entry Fee - £20.00 per team.
The special entry fee just applies to the team event and is in addition to any other entry / camping / parking charges made.
Pre entry is @ £5 per driver i.e. £20 team - ALL money goes to the prize fund.
 
RACE FORMAT -
Racing runs as two separate days – two heats and a final

As soon as the heats on day two are completed we will announce the top three teams (the top team will win prize money), those three teams will take part in a 12 car handicapped race to determine the overall champion and runner up (both of which also get prize money)…

So YES two people could win twice! i.e. as part of their team and as overall champ!

     DAY ONE – running order
      Heat one – 4 laps
      Heat two – 4 laps

            Interval
     

      Finals – 6 laps

     DAY TWO – running order
      Heat one – 4 laps
      Heat two – 4 laps
            

             Interval  - during which we announce the top 3 teams & present the top team              with prize money and trophies at race control & do a winning team interview.
    

      Finals of ordinary racing – 5 laps
      Present winners of ordinary races their trophies in an on-track ceremony whilst       the top 3 team’s cars cool down, get maintained etc ready for the overall final

      The Grand Prix FINAL
      The members of the top 3 teams race each other to determine the outright winner       and runner up. At the end of the race the winner and runner up do a slow lap of       honour then stop at race control for a presentation and interview.

NB: For the 2009 event – the winner and the runner will be invited back as honoured guests where they can defend their title whether or not their team gets to the final.
